SAHIWAL: Farid Town police on Sunday arrested a youth who had allegedly subjected a minor girl to rape in Barkat Town on Saturday.

According to locals, eight-year-old daughter of Shakeel, a resident of Barkat Town, went to a shop in the locality to buy chips on Saturday evening.

She was allegedly lured by a youth, to a deserted house where he raped her and fled leaving her injured.

Later, some passersby, alarmed by the girl’s cries, entered the abandoned house where they found her lying injured.

On being informed of the incident, girl’s parents shifted her to the district headquarters hospital where she was provided treatment.

According to hospital sources, her condition was stable and police collected the DNA samples.

Farid Town police said they had arrested the suspect.
