NAB arrests realtor for defrauding people

PESHAWAR: National Accountability Bureau, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, on Tuesday arrested a property dealer of Haripur district on charges of looting around Rs275 million from public at large through fraudulent means.

The suspect, Bostan Khan, will be produced before an accountability court on Wednesday (today) by the NAB officials for getting his physical remand.

The NAB claims that it initiated an inquiry against the suspect and his co-accused persons upon receipt of several complaints.

It alleges that the suspect in connivance with others transferred low value lands to innocent people while showing them high value lands at time of deal to sell.

It adds that through those fraudulent means people were deprived of their hard earned money and the total claims had so far reached to the tune of Rs275 million.

The NAB Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has already arrested co-accused persons named Mehtab Ali Qureshi, Malik Habib and Adil Shokat.

Meanwhile, NAB also arrested an industrialist Daud Khan, the owner of Daud Steel Mills Bara, Khyber Agency, for willfully defaulting electricity bills to the tune of Rs94 million and causing loss to the exchequer.

The NAB states that the suspect owns Daud Steel Mills in Bara, Khyber Agency and he defaulted on electricity bills for several years. Despite several notices, he declined to clear his outstanding dues.
