Five development schemes okayed

LAHORE: The Punjab Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) approved on Tuesday another five development schemes, including establishment of a citizen facilitation and service centre, with an estimated cost of Rs3.28 billion.

Those schemes were approved in the 43rd meeting of PDWP of current fiscal year 2015-16 presided over by Punjab Planning and Development Board Chairman Muhammad Jahanzeb Khan.

According to a spokesman for Planning and Development Department, the approved development schemes are establishment of video conferencing facility for the Punjab government at Rs381 million, establishment of Citizen Facilitation and Service Centre (E-Khidmat Markaz) for Rs1.2 billion; enhancing capacity of Sheikhupura drain for Rs845 million; raising and strengthening Sanawan Flood Bund and embankment along T.P. Link Canal Muzaffargarh for Rs260 million; and construction of J-Head Spur at and Guide Head Spur at Maggasson Branch D/S left Taunsa Barrage Muzaffargarh for of Rs554 million.
