LAHORE: Bay horse Man Of Commitment made all the running to land the feature event during the Lahore Summer Meeting at the Racecourse here on Sunday.

The three to one chance bay horse battled bravely after being headed by bay filly Blue Moon to beat that rival by over six lengths in the Ceasar Plate Class VI Division III and IV combined handicap race run over the sprinting distance of 1,000 metres.

Strangely the 60 to 100 favourite bay colt Dogar Prince put up a dismal show finishing third, a distance behind leaving backers finger crossed.

Blue roan horse Mubarak completed the frame in a field of six runners left after the last-minute withdrawal of bay filly Dollar East.

This was the Man Of Commitment’s second success on the trot.

A race earlier, 30 to 100 favourite bay filly Rose Petal dug deep in the run to the finish line registering an easy eight-length success over her nearest rival Talha Prince in the fifth race.

Amir Queen and Kali Ghata completed the frame.

Five well-backed horses won in a card of seven races.

The Lahore Race Club (LRC), meanwhile, threw out of the club riding boy Babar Rehman for three months for not allowing his mount, bay colt Babbar Sher in the fourth race.

The entries of the colt were banned in races for three months and his trainer Abdullah was fined Rs20,000.

It was also announced that the next races will now be held on Sunday, July 10.
