QUETTA: The role of religious scholars in building a welfare state is huge, and it’s utterly important for them to create awareness to protect children from fatal diseases, worst among them, polio.

These observations were made during a meeting of the Polio Emergency Centre, Quetta.

Exhorting religious scholars to support vaccination programmes for children against fatal diseases, participants said that they needed to guide the public about the urgency of vaccination.

Additional Commissioner, Quetta, Muhammad Ishaq said religious scholars could bring about positive changes in the society.
