Three killed over petty issue in Peshawar

PESHAWAR: Three people were killed and two others injured when two parties clashed over a petty dispute in Hayatabad phase-VI area on Thursday evening.

SP Cantt Kashif Zulfiqar said that three people were killed, while two others sustained injuries. He claimed that the police responded in time and arrested the person who shot these people and recovered the weapon. He said that the shootout created panic in the area.

Mr Zulfiqar said that the firing took place after a quarrel between children from both the sides.

Meanwhile, counter-terrorism department officials have arrested an alleged target killer for his involvement in killing of ICMS College principal Abid Raza. Mr Raza was gunned down on March 30 in Afridi Market locality of Hayatabad when he was on his way to home from office.

A statement issued here said that CTD had also arrested an accused identified as Zahid Alias Hamam, a resident of Sangu area of city, from Pishtakhara Chowk on Ring Road. It claimed that the accused was affiliated with a banned outfit.

Separately, CTD has also registered an FIR in the murder of the section officer, Nawab Khan Safi. Mr Safi was shot dead by unidentified attackers on Wednesday night in the limits of Yakatoot police station.
