Bakhtawar, Aseefa distribute relief goods sent by UAE among villagers

KARACHI: Bakhtawar Bhutto-Zardari and Aseefa Bhutto-Zardari, the daughters of former president Asif Ali Zardari, on Tuesday distributed the relief goods, which were sent by the wife of the founder and the first president of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, Fatima Bint Mubarak Al Nahyan, among families residing in 17 villages of Kathore.

The Bhutto-Zardari sisters were joined by the UAE consul general in the distribution of the relief goods at a simple ceremony held in Kathore. A large number of local people besides some officials attended the event.

In tweets made by the two sisters, they welcomed the support programme from the UAE’s royal family and called it the reflection of the strong relations between the two countries.

“So grateful to Her Highness Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Al Nahyan for her tremendous generosity to the people of Pakistan,” said the elder Bakhtawar Bhutto-Zardari in her tweets while sharing pictures of the ceremony. “[I] was even more touched to hear that she has been providing care for families in Pakistan for over two years. This is genuine kindness.”

While praising the support from the UAE’s royal family, Aseefa termed the ties between the two countries a “friendship of generations.”

“Countless prayers from the families in Kathore for relief provided by Her Excellency Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Al Nahyan,” she tweeted.
