Parking problem

I AM a BBA student at the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), located on the Karachi University (KU) campus. On May 20, a fellow student was returning home at 9pm. Near the Commerce Department he was asked to pull over by a man dressed in casual wear and slippers. The student didn’t stop his vehicle, thinking it was someone wanting a lift or some money.

A few yards farther ahead, his car was then stopped by a vehicle belonging to the KU guards. The same person then approached him, shouting that he was the security adviser to the university. He, along with KU guards, abused IBA students and took their identity cards as a punishment for not stopping their vehicles. The IBA students’ suffering did not end there.

From the following morning, the security adviser refused to allow any IBA student’s vehicle to enter into the university campus. Now, all IBA students must park their vehicles at the Muskan gate and walk up to IBA — which is at a distance of about one mile from Muskan. In summation, the whole student community of the IBA has been punished for a misunderstanding between two people. This is unfair. The security adviser should be asked by the higher authorities to be reasonable and change his stance.
