Man killed by cousin over monetary row

LAHORE: A young man was allegedly shot dead by his cousin over a monetary dispute in Misri Shah on Thursday.

Police said trader Asghar Butt, 30, was sitting at his shop in iron market when his paternal cousin Azam Butt reached there.

They said Azam Butt would visit him to demand Rs80,000 which he had given to Asghar some months ago.

Police said Asghar ridiculed Azam and refused to give him money at which Azam got enraged, pulled out his gun and shot at and injured Asghar.

The injured was taken to the Mayo Hospital where he died after some treatment.

Police shifted the body to morgue for autopsy and registered a case against Azam.

ASI Shahid Ali said the man was killed over a monetary dispute and raids were being conducted to arrest the suspect.

ACCIDENTS: Two men were killed in accidents in the city on Thursday.

In the first incident, Waris Ali, 28, of Baghbanpura was on his way by his motorcycle when a mini-truck hit him at Sultan Mahmood Road. The motorcyclist suffered head injuries and died at hospital.

The locals overpowered the truck driver and handed him over to police.

Police shifted the body to morgue and registered a case against the truck driver.

In another incident, Abdul Bari, 22, of Sanda was on his way when a tractor-trolley hit him on Sanda Road. He was pronounced dead at hospital.

Sanda police handed over the body to heirs.
