X-Men Apocalypse Save the world again!

If X-Men: Days of Future Past was set in the 70s, X-Men Apocalypse is set in the era of Knight Rider — the 80s. In the last flick, the mutants were fighting amongst themselves but here, they have to fight against the ‘first Mutant’ En Sabah Nur aka Apocalypse (Oscar Isaac) who transfers his conscious to his next host and has been around forever, literally!

The film revolves around the X-Men and their battle against the most powerful Mutant ever. Bryan Singer does a fabulous job as the director of another flick in the franchise (his fourth out of seven X-Men movies) and gives all the Mutants a chance to grow with the flow.

After a The Mummy style intro and an Indiana Jones style escape for the big guy, he falls back on his tried and tested cast — Professor X/Charles Xavier (James McAvoy), Erik/Magneto (Michael Fassbender), Raven/Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence) and Hank McCoy/Beast (Nicholas Hoult) — who are shown living their lives post Days of Future Past. With all the Mutants on target, Professor X, Beast and Mystique must join hands with the younger recruits (and a surprise glimpse of an older one!) to save the world from destruction.

The film is set in the 80s and that’s why doesn’t have computers (the ones we know of), mobile phones and the internet. Instead, the audience is treated to the powers of Alex Summers/Havok (Lucas Till), his brother Scott Summers/Cyclops (Tye Sheridan), Jean Grey/Phoenix (Sophie Turner), Kurt Wagner/Nightcrawler (Kodi Smit-McPhee) and Peter ‘Quicksilver’ Maximoff (Evan Peters). The film also welcomes Charles’ love interest CIA Special Agent Moira McTaggert (Rose Byrne) who helps them fight against the false god.

There is action wherever the X-Men and the Apocalypse and his Four Horsemen go; on one hand he wants to control the world by starting afresh, on the other is Professor X who knows exactly what he has to do. Every mutant gets to show his powers fully; there are secrets that will be unveiled during the movie. For the fans of X-Men, the movie is a must-watch since it features the who’s who of the franchise; for those who don’t know much about Professor X and his Mutants, this is the ideal opportunity to know them. They are the good guys and save the world from those who want to use it for their personal gain!
