Water shortage

KARACHI has not been getting its quota of water supply for a long time. It needs 1,000 million gallons a day but unfortunately the poor, inefficient system is only able to supply half or maybe less of that amount to Karachi.

People talk about the many problems of Karachi but its most important problem is water crisis. The country’s biggest city is deprived of clean water and like always Karachiites figure out their own ways to help themselves.

The government should solve this problem in return for their votes that they have been giving in the hope of this problem being solved. I request the department concerned to take serious steps to resolve this problem.

THE people of Karachi have been suffering from untold miseries in the face of little or no supply of water to many areas. Some areas don’t get water at all for days together. I am a resident of Malir Kausar Town, and have to purchase water from private tankers at exorbitant rates of Rs.1,000/ to Rs. 1,200 twice a week. The local offices turn a deaf ear to the resident’s complaints.

I request the authorities concerned take action in this regard and remove the public grievances.
