Police facilitation centres to be established

KARACHI: A three-member body was formed on Friday for setting up ‘police facilitation centres’ in the metropolis where all services would be provided to the citizens.

This decision was taken at a meeting held under the chairmanship of Sindh home minister Suhail Anwar Khan Sial.

The participants were told that services like character certificate, legal counselling, police verification, non-cognizance reports, vehicle verifications, traffic fines deposit facility, complaints against police, investigation progress, learner driving licence and reporting of missing documents etc would be provided at these facilitation centres.

Sindh IGP A.D. Khawaja directed AIG security/Special Security Unit (SSU) to ensure implementation of the basic objectives of police facilitation centres and to devise a viable mechanism to institutionalise them. He constituted a three-member committee comprising the DIG-South, AIG security/SSU and SSP-South to devise a strategy for its implementation.
