McDonald’s welcomes Pakistanis 'behind the scenes'

ISLAMABAD: McDonald's, one of the largest fast food chains in Pakistan, has allowed its customers to visit its outlets' kitchens to observe first-hand the 'health and hygiene standards it maintains'.

In a press release, the food chain said that as customers, particularly mothers, are concerned about the cleanliness and quality of food served in restaurants, McDonald's has invited them once more to visit its kitchens through this 'Open Door' program.

"At McDonald’s, it’s all about our customers and how we can give them the best quality food, and we want people to see our high standards of operation to retain our position as Pakistani food lovers’ first choice," said Jamil Mughal, McDonald's Director Marketing and Development.

When McDonald's opened its kitchen doors last year, more than 20,586 people took kitchen tours including renowned celebrities Chef Shai, Dr Farzeen, model Nadia Hussain and actor Humayun Saeed.

Anyone interested can register for the kitchen tours online. A form is available to specify the preferred outlet they would like to visit. However, mall and small outlets are not included because of limited kitchen space.
