Present govt ‘a sequel to’ Musharraf regime

FAISALABAD: Jamaat-i-Islami Emir Sirajul Haq has said the present government is a sequel to Musharraf regime and people are much perturbed by the country’s corrupt rulers and system.

Talking to reporters here on Thursday, he said unemployment was increasing in the country and the government failed to bring any improvement in its two-and-a-half years rule.

He alleged that embezzled money was being transferred abroad and corruption was hitting the institutions like Pakistan Steel Mills and Wapda.

He said corruption was the root cause of all evils the country had been facing and nothing was being done on merit.

“We have been trying to save Pakistan from the corrupt practices of rulers and will launch a corruption-free Pakistan movement,” he added.

In this connection, he said, anti-corruption rallies would be taken out across the country on April 10.

He urged the government to review its strategy with regard to India, especially after the arrest of a RAW agent in Balochistan.
