Minor suffocates during police raid on house

LAKKI MARWAT: A two-month-old baby girl suffocated allegedly due to police negligence during a raid at a house in Baistkhel area here on Sunday.

According to reports, a joint police party of Tajori police station and Serai Gambila police post raided the house of an alleged bike thief, Nabiullah in Kotka Shaikh Azeem village. However, the accused was not found at his home.

During house search, the policemen dumped quilts on a cot where a two-month-old infant, Seemab, was sleeping, causing the baby to suffocate.

Following the incident, the area people reached the house, from where they went to Serai Gambila police post to get registered an FIR against the responsible police officials.

Later, a case was registered against SHO Tajori Naseebur Rehman and in-charge Serai Gambila police post ASI Samiullah.
