TOBA TEK SINGH: Water cut the bank of the Jhang branch canal near Chak 399-JB on Friday resulting into the flooding of hundreds of acres of farmland.

Witnesses said farmers tried to plug the 60-foot breach on their own but failed and soon the Irrigation Department staff joined them. The canal banks were recently brick-lined.
