No tinge of green at PSL

LAHORE: A complete lack of Pakistan’s national colour from the kits of all five competing franchises at the inaugural of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) points to the most glaring flaw on part of the overzealous organisers.

Lahore Qalandars, Peshawar Zalmi, Islamabad United, Karachi Kings and Quetta Gladiators have refrained from using the green colour, which obviously is a prominent feature of the national flag, on any part of their playing kits.

This is in sharp contrast to the teams of the Indian Premier League (IPL) where their national colour of blue is clearly visible on all the franchises’ kits.

While the PSL hierarchy, for reasons best known to them only, have ignored the green colour, they have prominently opted for blue colour, very similar to the one that several IPL franchises use, in the kits of both Karachi Kings and Quetta Gladiators.

The fans watching the matches back home have already taken serious notice of this horrendous oversight by the PSL officials who seemed to be lacking the wisdom of remembering the national colour of the country they live in.
