Bail of four Lahore gang-rape suspects rejected

LAHORE: A sessions court on Friday denied bail to four suspects involved in the gang-rape of a teenager student.

The suspects were arrested by the Racecourse police along with other suspects.

The suspects had pleaded that they were innocent and had no role in the alleged incident of gang rape.

However, Additional District and Sessions Judge Najaf Shahzadi dismissed the bail petitions and observed that direct involvement in the incident had been attributed to the petitioners in the FIR.

The suspects allegedly abducted the 15-year-old girl from Multan Road and took her to a guest house on The Mall where they subjected her to gang-rape. They left the girl unconscious in a hotel room and informed her family through a text message on mobile phone.

Kasur child abuse scandal

An anti-terrorism court on Friday acquitted three suspects involved in a Kasur child abuse scandal for lack of evidence.

The three suspects were accused of raping a girl and filming the incident.

The counsel for the suspects pleaded that police failed to establish the charges and prosecution witnesses also denied to recognise them.
