Lakki district govt launches its website

LAKKI MARWAT: The Lakki Marwat district government on Friday launched its website at a ceremony held in the district headquarters complex, Tajazai, here.

Bannu division commissioner Kamran Zeb, who was the chief guest, opened the website, making the district to be the first in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to have its own website. District Nazim Ishfaq Ahmad Khan Meenakhel and Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Bakhtiar Khan were among those present on the occasion.

The website (www.lakkimarwat.gkp.pk) has been developed with the support of Centre for Peace and Development Initiative (CPDI), a non-government organisation.

Speaking at the ceremony, the deputy commissioner said the website would provide the citizens a platform to analyse the performance of the district government and give their valuable suggestions to improve governance.

“Besides getting budgetary and income and expenditure details of the district government people can also collect information about the district government and activities of the devolved departments and events through a single click,” he maintained.

Mr Bakhtiar termed the use of new technologies inevitable to achieve the goals of sustainable development.

District Nazim Ishfaq Meenakhel said transparency and accountability were the key tools for good governance, calling upon the line departments’ heads and employees to equip themselves with information technology to improve service delivery.
