Three teachers injured in attack

CHARSADDA: Three teachers of a government-run primary school were injured in an attack here on Friday.

Zahir Shah, one of the teachers, reported to the police that he and two colleagues — Adil Khan and Sahib Ali — were going home from the school when two unidentified men on a motorcycle opened fire on them on the main GT Road near Mirzagan graveyard.

The teachers suffered injuries and were taken to the district headquarters hospital in Charsadda. Adil Khan and Sahib Ali were later shifted to Lady Reading Hospital in Peshawar for their serious condition.

According to Zahir Shah, the attackers were wearing mask.

Soon after the incident police reached the spot and interviewed eyewitnesses.

The incident created fear and panic in the area.

The motive for the attack is yet to be ascertained.

District president of Insaf Teachers Forum Mohammad Shafi and others condemned the attack and called for the arrest of attackers.

They urged the government to provide security to teachers.
