Medical graduates get degrees

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Sardar Mahtab Ahmad Khan on Friday announced a 100 kanal piece of land for construction of accommodation for the faculty and a hostel for the students of Khyber College of Dentistry (KCD).

He made the announcement while addressing the convocation of the college here. He also announced a grant of Rs1.5 million for an exchange programme for the college, according to a statement.

The governor conferred 210 degrees on students and gold medals on 111 outstanding performers.

Principal of the college, Professor Ghulam Rasool, presented the annual performance report.

Mahtab Khan emphasised the importance of role of doctors and paramedics in patients care. He said that KCD was symbol of pride among the medical institutions of the country as it had been making outstanding contributions to promotion of medical education and healthcare at the national level.

The governor said that the institution had been serving as a nursery in producing healthcare professionals and intellectuals whose services and capabilities were second to none not only in the country but also at the international level.

The ceremony was also addressed by the Vice-Chancellor of Khyber Medical University Professor Hafeezullah.

Registrar of the university, faculty members of the college, a large number of graduating students and their parents were also present on the occasion.
