Gold medal for KEMU professor

LAHORE: The Ophthalmological Society of Pakistan (OSP) awarded on Friday a gold medal to Prof Asad Aslam Khan of the King Edward Medical University (KEMU) in recognition of his tremendous services in the field of community ophthalmology.

The medal was awarded to him in the 39th meeting of the society held at a local hotel, says a press release.

Society president Prof Dr Mohammad Idrees Adhi, society’s Lahore chapter president Prof Dr Nadeem Riaz and senior ophthalmologists from all over the country attended the ceremony.

University of Health Sciences Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Mohammad Aslam was the chief guest.

Prof Asad had already been awarded Sitara-i-Imtiaz in recognition of his services in the field of medical education and Asia Pacific award in prevention of blindness.
