ISLAMABAD: Tax collection by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) rose by 27.22 per cent to Rs229 billion in November 2015 from Rs180bn in the same month last year.

The total collection stood at Rs1.044 trillion during July-Nov 2015-16 as compared to Rs904bn in the same period last year, an increase of 15.49pc.

FBR Spokesperson Muhammad Iqbal informed that November’s target has been achieved. He expects the final collection to be higher.

The board also issued refunds of Rs36bn as compared to Rs34bn issued during July-Nov 2014-15.
