Iftikhar Arif calls on Khamenei

TEHRAN: Renowned Urdu scholar and poet Iftikhar Arif called on Iran’s Supreme leader Sayyed Ali Khamenei at Bait Rehbari in Tehran, according to report reaching Karachi.

He presented the Iranian leader his recently compiled book “Bagh-e-Gumshuda”, comprising translation of his Urdu poems into Persian by Dr Ali Bayat, Head of the Urdu Department of Tehran University. Dr Hadad Adil, Chairperson of the Iranian Translation Bureau, was present on the occasion.

Based in the Iranian capital, Mr Arif heads the cultural wing of the Economic Cooperation Organisation.
