"We, unlike our opponents, believe in constructive politics and politics of serving people at large," said the PM.

The prime minister reminded the audience, comprising farmers, that his political opponents opposed the announcement and implementation of farmers' package.

"When the Supreme Court gave it legal cover, we were able to come up with this package and the relief attached with it, they (the political opponents) falsely claim to be aware of people's problems," claimed Nawaz.

The premier revealed that his government is also considering a plan to provide free medical facilities to poor and deserving people.

About the energy crisis and long standing load shedding issue, Nawaz said that the incumbent government is working day in and day out to resolve the issue and it will overcome the crisis in next two and a half years.

Later, the premier distributed cheques among farmers.

Federal Minister for Food Security Sikandar Hayat Bosan and Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid were also present on the occasion.
