LAHORE: The Punjab University Advanced Studies and Research Board has approved 25 PhD synopses.

The research board meeting was held here on Monday with Vice Chancellor Prof Mujahid Kamran in the chair. It also approved 20 evaluation reports, 25 panel of examiners, 12 extension cases and 10 miscellaneous cases.

Meanwhile, the PU Centre for South Asian Studies organised a lecture on “Peace building and conflict management measures: A comparative study between Pakistan & Sri Lanka.”

CSAS Director Prof Umbreen Javaid, faculty members and MPhil/PhD scholars were present on the occasion.

Ms Ammara Farooq Malik said peace-building education was becoming an important area of study all over the world as it was directly connected to “how we led our day-to-day life.” She said as citizens of Pakistan, “we are particularly affected by this problem.”

She said: “The world is not ready to help us get rid of our problems, therefore, we will have to proceed towards social entrepreneurship.”
