Call to ‘do more’ now echoing within country: ANP

CHARSADDA: The Awami National Party’s chief Asfandyar Wali Khan has said the demand to ‘do more’ initially came from abroad but now the same call was emanating within the country, and every institution should remain within its own domain and not cross the limits.

Addressing a party workers’ convention at Sheikh Kalley on Friday, he said the country was facing various challenges. Constant threats on the eastern and western borders, deteriorating law and order situation in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas and Balochistan and a souring relationship with the Afghan government called for unity of the nation.

He said the demand of ‘do more’ from an institution at this critical juncture would serve nobody’s cause.

He said every institution should work within its domain and not cross the limits for the sake of betterment of the country and the democratic set-up.

The ANP leader said such interference might harm national unity and harmony.
