HYDERABAD: Over 15,000 candidates appeared in entrance tests held on the Sindh University (SU) main campus on Sunday for admissions in 58 disciplines. The entry tests were also simultaneously held at the Jamshoro, Badin, Mirpurkhas, Dadu, Thatta, Bhitshah and Lar­kana campuses of the university where more than 800 candidates appeared altogether.

The highest number of candidates, 15,160, took the test held at the main Allama I.I. Kazi campus which was dela­yed by two hours and caused confusion to the candidates due to mismanagement.

Most candidates, as well as their parents accompanying them to the test venue, criticised the organisers for failing to observe the timings and ensure availability of proper facilities. “There was complete chaos at the campus before, during and after the test,” they complained, adding that police and Rangers personnel had to intervene repeatedly to disperse agitating activists. It was learnt that at least three activists, said to be associated with nationalist parties, were briefly detained.

DADU: More than 330 candidates appeared in the entrance test held at the SU Dadu campus offering admissions in BBA, BS (IT), and BS (English) four-year programmes for the academic year 2016. Fortunately, the test started on time and ended peacefully, the SU administration and candidates said.
