KARACHI: JI Sindh chief takes oath

KARACHI, Oct 26: Dr Mumtaz Ali Memon took the oath of Sindh Amir of Jamat-i-Islami here on Sunday.

Other members of the consultative committee also took oath. After consulting the members Dr Mumtaz has appointed Dr Merajul Huda Siddiqui and Mumtaz Hussain Sehto as Naib Amir, Rashid Naseem as general secretary and Hafiz Nasrullah Channa as deputy secretary general.

MNA Asadullah Bhutto and MPA Nasrullah Shajee briefed the members of the performance of the National Assembly and the Sindh Assembly respectively.

The consultative body expressed concern over the increasing murder, dacoity and kidnapping for ransom cases in the province, and termed it a failure of the provincial government.

A resolution unanimously passed during the meeting of the Shura said that dacoits in the interior of Sindh and extortionists in urban areas had made the life of the masses miserable.

Another resolution praised the city government for announcing reduction in prices of edible items on the eve of Ramazan. It stressed the other district governments to follow the footsteps of the CDGK.—PPI
