College, passport office approved

LAKKI MARWAT: The federal and provincial governments have approved setting up a passport office and a boys degree college in the district, PTI MNA Col (r) Ameerullah Khan Marwat claimed on Saturday.

Talking to Dawn, Mr Marwat said the establishment of passport office and a college in Kurrum Par area had been the longstanding demands of local residents. He said he was in contact with the interior ministry and provincial higher education department to get the people’s demands materialised.

He said local residents had to travel to Bannu to get passports, adding being a lawmaker from the district he was aware of the fact that the residents of four union councils in Kurrum Par lacked higher education facilities.

“In order to continue education after matriculation the students have to get admission in colleges of Lakki and Naurang towns,” he maintained, saying many parents didn’t send their children to Lakki and Naurang due to financial constraints.
