Japanese trade team due tomorrow

ISLAMABAD: A 50-member Japanese business delegation, led by Parliamentary Vice Minister for Economy, Trade and Investment, Tsuneo Kitamura, will arrive in Islamabad on Monday to hold talks with government leaders on expansion of bilateral trade and investment between the two countries.

Board of Investment Chairman Miftah Ismail said some serious negotiations on Japanese investment in Pakistan are expected during the visit of the delegation.

Sources said that the Japanese companies have shown interest in making investment in Pakistan, and after visit, the two countries will devise a follow-up mechanism, co-chaired by Secretary of Commerce and the Japanese ambassador in Islamabad.

Official sources said that the Japanese companies will make decision on investment in Pakistan after holding both official and business level talks. The Japa­nese private sector will he headed by Mr Teruo Asada, President, Japan-Pakistan Business Cooperation Committee.
