Inter-school Athletics event set for Nov 7

KARACHI: Sindh Track and Field Club in association with Karachi Amateur Athletics Association and the Sindh Athletics Association is organising its annual Inter-School and Open Track and Field Championship on Nov 7 at PSB’s National Coaching Centre (NCC).

Like always, the events are categorised in U-17 (boys and girls) and Open (men and women) age brackets. In addition to medal and championship trophies, this time Sindh Track and Field club is also offering cash prizes.

The NCC has been the venue for many athletics meets in recent years. Given the design of the track, starting lineups for 100m and 200m sprints always face a headwind. This historically results in slower times.

So the championship will, indeed, be a challenge for the young athletes to break the barrier and improve upon the NCC field records in 100m, 200m and 400m.—Agencies
