Identifying Hajis

PAKISTAN is mourning its missing and martyred Hajis. Their families are looking for them and so is the government.

The government issues big plastic identity cards and plastic wrist bands to all Hajis with instructions to wear them at all times.

These items are not only cumbersome but also uncomfortable to wear, according to some Hajis who returned last week. According to them, many Pakistanis do not wear them regularly. This is probably one of the many reasons why our missing Hajis are not identifiable.

How about using just one stainless steel ID tablet with national identity card worn around the neck with stainless steel chain from now on?

The steel chain and the tag are lightweight with no sharp corners and can be worn easily. I have seen army personnel wearing these as they cannot catch fire and help in identification after explosions and fires.
