Private schools

THIS is apropos advertisement ‘Private Schools —The untold story’ (Sept 18) and the letters published on this issue. Parents are on the same page and are requesting the authorities concerned to take note of the fee increase .

The sad part is that the quality of education imparted by these schools is contrary to what they charge on account of fee.

Most of these schools are Cambridge-affiliated schools. One way to improve the education standard of these schools is to give an incentive of tax holidays for those schools which achieve good O & A level results and charge a fee not more than Rs 4,000 a month, which is still is quite high.

These schools must also be compelled to have their branches in rural areas where there is a dire need for raising the standard of education.
