Penalties to prison employees for misconduct

LAHORE: Inspector General of Prisons (Punjab) Mian Farooq Nazir has awarded punishments to many employees including an assistant superintendent and a lady warder after various allegations proved against them in the inquiry reports.

According to an official, the IG prisons dismissed from service three warders including a lady employee for being absent from duty for a long period.

Adnan Butt, warder at Sialkot jail, remained absent from duty for 157 days, Ashiq Husain, warder at Central Jail Lahore for 240 days, and Sadia Awan, lady warder at Central Jail Rawalpindi, remained absent from duty for 54 days.

The IG awarded punishment of stoppage of promotion for two years to Mohammad Khan, warder at Central Jail Bahawlapur, for being absent from duty for 133 days.

He also ordered to stop promotion of assistant superintendent of Central Jail Rawalpindi Asif Raza for three years after the charges of being absent from duty for five days proved true.
