KARACHI: President Mohammad Ayub Khan’s high appreciation of the writers, poets, thinkers and Radio artistes for their inspiring work during India’s aggression against Pakistan was conveyed by the Central Information Secretary, Mr Altaf Gauhar, to a gathering of eminent writers, poets, intellectuals, Radio officials and artistes at the Broadcasting House of Radio Pakistan, Karachi, yesterday.

He told the gathering that “it has been a time when each one of you used your talent in a selfless manner” and played a vital role in achieving unprecedented national values. “It should be our anxiety to preserve the values we have discovered,” he added. Mr. Altaf Gauhar said: “I have come here to pay to all of you the personal tributes of the President.”

[Meanwhile, as reported by our Hyderabad Correspondent,] Mr Enver Adil, Commissioner of Family Planning, exhorted the field workers of the family planning department to carry the message of happy homes for the nation to the people through persuasion and a proper approach. He was presiding over a regional conference of district executive officers of family planning at the divisional council hall here yesterday [Oct 8].
