Surjani Town building project banned by SBCA

KARACHI: The Sindh Building Control Authority has cancelled the licence of a builder, stopped construction work on his building project and banned selling and booking in the project in Surjani Town for violating building laws and regulations and asked the public not to invest / book any property in the project.

An SBCA statement issued here on Friday said that acting director general Mumtaz Haider had cancelled the licence of the builder, M/s Akhtar Associates (builder licence number: 3039), as he was violating various building laws / regulations and codes in his project “Crown Residency” being constructed on plot No: FL 5, Sector 2, Scheme 41, Surjani Town.

The authority also stopped the construction on the project and also banned advertisement and selling relating to the property in the project.

Meanwhile, the demolition squad of the authority accompanied by police also demolished illegal constructions on plot No ST 9, Block 2, Scheme 5 in Clifton.

The demolition operation against illegal constructions was also carried out in different parts of the city, including Napier quarters, Gulshan-i-Iqbal, Bihar Muslim Cooperative Housing Society, Kutchi Memon Society, Shah Faisal Town, Federal B Area, Nazimabad, Mianwali Colony, Hassan Village, Saleh Para, etc, the statement added.
