Beautification plan of Tajazai complex in doldrums

LAKKI MARWAT: The district government is unable to renovate and beautify the district headquarters complex Tajazai due to the indifferent attitude of communications and works and other relevant departments.

Tajazai complex houses offices of various government departments.

A week ago, Lakki district nazim Ishfaq Ahmad Khan Meenakhel had constituted a committee to carry out survey of the complex and launch cleanliness and beautification work.

The committee comprising officials of communication and works, forest, agriculture, public health engineering departments and tehsil municipal administration were also tasked with submitting proposals for repair and improving the sewerage and drainage system of the complex. The committee was to set up greenbelts in front of the office buildings and a parking lot for official and private vehicles.

Acting on the directives, the local heads of relevant departments tasked class-IV employees with removing shrubs and heaps of dirt and litter around the complex. However, the employees disappeared after cutting plants leaving the beautification plan of district headquarters complex in doldrums.

“The government servants need a clean and comfortable environment to discharge duties,” said an employee wishing not to be named. He urged the local government authorities to ensure implementation of directives of district nazim.

The district headquarters complex houses deputy commissioner office, police lines and Pesco offices and there is dire need to implement the beautification and renovation plan in true spirit,” maintained another employee.

The employees asked the district government to review the progress of the committee tasked with launching renovation, cleanliness and beautification work at the district headquarters complex.
