KARACHI: While the maximum temperature in the metropolis slightly dropped on Saturday, other areas of Sindh remained in the grip of the heatwave with Nawabshah and Padidan sizzling at 43 degrees Celsius, said the Met official.

On Sunday, the weather across the province would remain hot and dry, he added.

Responding to Dawn queries, the weatherman said the maximum temperature recorded in Hyderabad, Moenjodaro and Mirpurkhas was 42 degrees Celsius, followed by Mithi and Chhor with 41 degrees Celsius, Tando Allahyar, Tando Mohammad Khan, Jamshoro and Matiari with 40 degrees Celsius and Thatta and Sujawal with 39 degrees Celsius.

In Karachi, he said, the maximum and minimum temperatures recorded on Saturday were 39 and 23 degrees Celsius, respectively.

The temperature was expected to drop further on Sunday in the city.
