Baldia factory fire case

KARACHI: A sessions court on Saturday adjourned the hearing of the Baldia factory fire case after police submitted that a team of investigators was leaving for the United Kingdom to interview the owners of the ill-fated industrial unit.

Abdul Aziz Bhaila, and his sons Arshad Bhaila and Shahid Bhaila, general manager Mansoor and some gatekeepers were initially booked and charge-sheeted in the September 2012 tragic incident in which over 250 workers were killed.

However, the provincial authorities had ordered a new probe into the case following the submission of a report prepared by a joint investigation team in the Sindh High Court in February which revealed that the factory was set on fire over non-payment of protection money.
