NAB files references against ex-health secretary, NEF official

QUETTA: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) filed two references against a former health secretary and an official of the National Education Foundation in an accountability court here on Wednesday.

The two have been accused of collectively causing a Rs12.6 million loss to the national exchequer through corruption and misuse of authority.

Former health secretary Jalal Khan has been accused of having purchased a dialysis machine for the Bolan Medical College Hospital for an exorbitant price in connivance with his subordinates, causing Rs10,293,539 loss to the national kitty.

In the other reference, Ghaffar Shah, the district in-charge of the National Education Foundation, has been accused of drawing salaries of ghost teachers in Pishin, Ziarat, Qila Abdullah, Qila Saifullah and Zhob districts for about six months.
