Public dealing offices

GETTING your work done at a public dealing office is a tiring task in Pakistan, whether it is an excise and taxation office, a court, bank, Nadra or a utility. It is almost impossible that you will accomplish your objective in one or two visits.

Either there will be a massive queue, the staff will be absent or your documents will be incomplete. Even if everything is complete, the behaviour of the staff at the counter will be humiliating and they will raise some frivilous objection. They will not entertain your concerns.

Common citizens are forced to stand the whole day in heat while these public servants sit in airconditioned rooms and give no thought to the public. The prime minister should take notice. There should be sufficient educated staff present at public dealing offices. There should not be more than 10 people standing in a queue at a time. Proper seating arrangements be ensured.

The requirement of documents must be available online so that everyone brings the complete documents required. Unnecessary documents should be excluded and the requirement be made simple.

It must be the staff’s utmost priority to address all concerns and ensure the work gets done in one visit. This will greatly reduce the worries of the already distressed nation.
