Traders protest against seizure of smuggled goods

QUETTA: Traders took out a procession here on Tuesday to protest against seizure of goods smuggled from Iran and Afghanistan during raids conducted by the Frontier Corps on shops in the city.

The protesters, led by Anjuman-i-Tajran President Rahim Kakar, took out the procession from Liaquat Bazaar which marched on different roads and culminated in a demonstration outside the Quetta Press Club.

Mr Rahim and other leaders of the traders said that smuggled goods should be confiscated in the border towns of Chaman and Taftan or on the highways between the two towns and Quetta.
