LAHORE: Off-timings of women educational institutions located on Jail Road will be changed after summer vacation to avoid inconvenience to the students and general public due to the ongoing construction work on the Signal Free Corridor.

Sources told APP that the decision was taken keeping in view the expected traffic mess during peak hours on the project site.

The management of all educational institutions has been requested to decide their timings with mutual consultation and avoid clash of the schedule of off timings to facilitate the students as well as the general commuters.

The Lahore College for Women University, APWA College for Women, Kinnaird College, Home Economics College, Gulberg, Technical Training Institute, Services Institute of Medical Sciences besides Punjab Institute of Cardiology and Services Hospital are situated on the site where the Punjab government launched the project to make a signal-free corridor from Liberty Roundabout to Qartaba Chowk.

Meanwhile, city traffic police sources said additional force would be deployed to facilitate commuters during peak hours.
