Monaco top after goalless draw with Lille

MONACO: Vincent Enyeama defied Monaco with an excellent display in goal but the home team still took a brief hold on top spot in Ligue 1 after drawing 0-0 with Lille on Friday in a game marred by injuries to two key players of the principality club.

Ahead of the first leg of their Champions League playoff against Valencia, Monaco lost French defender Layvin Kurzawa and Portuguese midfielder Joao Moutinho, who could miss next week’s trip to Spain.

“We had a good first-half and we could have scored,” Monaco coach Leonardo Jardim said. “Then we were seriously disadvantaged by the injuries of Kurzawa and Moutinho. They are going to undergo further tests.”

Monaco lead the way with four points from two matches while Lille are on one point.
