Jatoi-Jagirani hostility ends

SHIKARPUR: A former Sindh minister, Mir Manzoor Panhwar, assisted by former MNA Dr Ibrahim Jatoi and MPA Abid Sundarani, chaired a jirga (tribal court) at Jatoi House here late on Sunday evening to end hostility between Jatoi and Jagirani tribes that had left 23 people dead so far. The hostility had begun over a robbery committed some 15 years ago.

After a lengthy proceeding, the jirga imposed a fine of Rs10.075 million on Jatois for 11 murders and Rs13.25 million on Jagiranis for 12 murders.

The fine money would be given to the bereaved families as compensation, the jirga ruled.
