Houses damaged in Indian firing

SIALKOT: The Indian Border Security Force (BSF) resorted to unprovoked intensified firing on border villages in Bajwat sector of Working Boundary on Saturday.

According to senior officials of the Punjab Rangers, the BSF targeted the civilian population with small and big weapons early in the morning by violating the ceasefire accord. Indian firing continued till afternoon intermittently.

According to local people, the BSF also fired mortar shells, damaging several houses. Many of the mortar shells that landed in the fields could not explode. The Punjab Rangers retaliated in a befitting manner, making the Indian guns silent, officials said.
