Asrar's career takes a Bollywood twist with Katrina's 'Afghan Jalebi'

It was only time before Asrar was picked up on the Bollywood radar.

The young musician created a sensation upon his Coke Studio debut last year; his now Lux Style Award-nominated single 'Sub Aakho Ali Ali' made him a household name.

His subsequent tracks, ranging from the soulful Shakar Wandan Re to the tongue-in-cheek Nasha Nasha, cemented his position as a musician to watch out for.

Asrar makes his Bollywood debut in Phantom with 'Afghan Jalebi' that stars Katrina Kaif in a tavern full of revellers, one of whom appears to be ardent admirer.

While the song doesn't show Asrar at his vocal best and Amitabh Bhattacharya's lyrics are a far throw from Asrar's witticism, it is yet another example of Bollywood's appreciation for Pakistani talent.

Asrar has also sung for local productions like Wrong No. and Ho Mann Jahaan.
