CCPO directs officers to fully implement NAP

LAHORE: Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Amin Wains on Friday directed administration and beat officers to effectively implement the National Action Plan (NAP) to fight terrorism and also contain printing and publication of hate material promoting sectarianism.

He was addressing at a meeting held to review the performance of beat and administration officers at Alhamra Hall. Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Dr Haider Ashraf, Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Tayyab Hafeez Cheema, Chief Admin Officer Superintendent of Police (SP) Umer Virk and Civil Lines SP (Investigation) Faisal Mukhtar were also present at the meeting.

The CCPO said beat and admin officers should launch a crackdown on people involved in selling illegal weapons, spreading hate, sectarianism and extremism through publications and speeches.

He directed the officers to maintain biometric record of all proclaimed offenders operating across the city to improve checking of suspects at checkposts.

DIG (Operations) Dr Haider Ashraf said android mobile phones were given to beat and admin officers for accessing data of proclaimed offenders and information of all types of crimes. He said sources were being provided to police stations to reduce crime ratio in their areas and beat constables would be trained for patrolling.

Meanwhile, the CCPO announced cash prize for the beat and admin officers of Gujjumata and Kahna for arresting a proclaimed offender involved in terrorism and murder cases.
