Turkish President Erdogan to arrive in Islamabad tomorrow

ISLAMABAD: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, on his way back from Indonesia, will be stopping over at Islamabad on Saturday, according to a statement by Foreign Office spokesman Syed Khalilullah.

The foreign office spokesperson said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will hold a meeting with the Turkish president him during the short stopover.

The two leaders would hold discussions on enhancement of bilateral relations, and global and international issues of mutual interest.

Recep Tayyip Erdogan had earlier visited Lahore and Islamabad in December 2013 as the Prime Minister of the Republic of Turkey.

It was his seventh visit to Pakistan in the last ten years, signifying substantial growth and strengthening of relations under his government.

This would be his first visit to Islamabad as the President of Turkey.

Qazi Khalilullah said Pakistan deeply appreciates the personal contribution to the growth and expansion of Pakistan-Turkey relations under the sagacious leadership of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
